Commonwealth Games Champion, Lakshya Sen, has been in the spotlight as he recently in a podcast show shared his admiration and respect for India star cricketer Virat Kohli.

In his recent appearance on the Ranveer Allahabadia Show and when asked about comparisons with cricketing icon Virat Kohli, Sen expressed his admiration and stated that he would love to be considered the 'Virat Kohli of Indian badminton'.

“I want to be the Virat Kohli of Indian badminton in the coming years – he has done a lot for Indian cricket,” Lakshya Sen said in the TRS podcast.

Lakshya Sen Shares An Interesting Story In Comparison With Virat Kohli

Sen even shared an insight story and claimed that this comparison was sparked by a viral moment where he executed a stunning no-look reverse backhand shot against Indonesia's Jonatan Christie.

This magnificent backhand shot was compared to Virat Kohli's iconic six against Harris Rauf during the T20 World Cup 2022 in Melbourne.

"Lakshya Sen did an 18.5 of Virat Kohli, who played a crazy shot. So this was the badminton equivalent, people are calling you the Virat Kohli of badminton, it's cool to be called Virat Kohli of any field, would you take that compliment?" asked the host.

"Why not, I mean, at the same time he has done a lot for Indian cricket and yes I want to be the Virat Kohli of Indian badminton in the coming years," stated Sen.

Lakshya Sen has been a remarkable figure in Indian badminton and has made significant strides on the international stage. In the recently concluded, Paris Olympics 2024, he narrowly missed out on a medal.

However, it is worth mentioning that, at the age of 23, the rising Shuttler has already accumulated an impressive list of achievements.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, who last played for India against Sri Lanka, is sharing his time with his family and enjoying a well-deserved break before the Bangladesh Test series at home.
