English paceman Ollie Robinson has opened up on the prospects of bowling to Virat Kohli once again through his side's upcoming five-match Test series in India. The two cricketers previously squared off during India's tour of England back in 2021, where Kohli was dismissed thrice at the hands of the lanky speedster.

Robinson recently revealed that he is looking forward to rekindling his rivalry with the Indian batting veteran and described the latter as one of the "best players" at the moment.

Robinson looking forward to duel with Kohli

Ollie Robinson has expressed his excitement about bowling at Virat Kohli on tough Indian conditions in the upcoming Test series. The 30-year-old English speedster praised the Indian batting veteran and described him as one of the "best players" with a "big ego".

While speaking with ESPNCricinfo, he said:

“You always want to play against the best players, don't you? And you always want to get the best players out. Kohli is one of those. He's got a big ego and I think playing on that, especially in India, where he is going to want to dominate and score runs, playing on the fact we've had battles in the past, is exciting.”

In mid-2021, Virat Kohli toured England during one of the worst phases of his batting career. The cricketer was dismissed thrice by Ollie Robinson while maintaining a below-par average of 19.7 against the speedster.

Robinson will be headlining England's pace attack alongside senior teammate James Anderson, Mark Wood and potential debutant Gus Atkinson.

The first Test of the five-match series will commence on January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
