In any sport, win, and loss play a major part in the morale of the players or a team, which could work as a deterrent or a motivation.

Pakistan's head coach Grant Bradburn is taking the latter approach after getting hammered by India in their Super 4s Asia Cup 2023 encounter. In the encounter, which lasted for two days, Pakistan suffered a record-breaking 228-run loss, which puts their Asia Cup 2023 under threat.

Ahead of the virtual knockout against Sri Lanka, Bradburn explained that the loss against India came as a blessing.

As quoted by ESPNcricinfo, the coach said that the management is taking the loss as a wake-up call, having won every international match in the past three months.

Here's what the coach said

"We're very grateful for the gift that has been these last two days, because to come at this stage of the tournament - and to come before the World Cup - it's a wonderful opportunity first to play India. We don't get to play some of the best players in the world very often. Also to play in conditions that may be similar in the World Cup.

We haven't lost a game for three months, and it's a timely reminder for us to turn up every day, put our best on the park. It's actually a gift that over the last two days we haven't quite done that."

Despite batting failures in the six-nation competition, Bradburn backed his batters to turn up at crucial moments and also talked about working on fielding skills moving forward.

Babar Azam and Co. will meet Sri Lanka on Thursday at R Premadasa in Colombo, with a spot in the final on offer.
