The biggest cricketing excitement is coming back as the Women’s Cricket World Cup is returning with its 13th edition. With excitement at an all-time high, teams are leaving no stone unturned in their preparation for the marquee event.

Ahead of stepping onto the big stage, Pakistan Women are set to face South Africa Women in a three-match ODI series. Skipper Fatima Sana believed this series would be crucial for fine-tuning their last-minute World Cup preparations.

The ODI Series Serves As Crucial Warm-Up For Pakistan Women

The ICC Women’s ODI World Cup is back with yet another season, and teams have set their aim on the coveted trophy. With the tournament just a few days away, nations are fine-tuning their skills through warm-up series. In line with this, Pakistan Women are set to face South Africa Women, starting from September 16.

After wrapping up the series, Pakistan Women will step into the World Cup stage. With the tournament set in a hybrid model, their matches will take place in Sri Lanka. Captain Fatima Sana addressed the upcoming series as the ideal platform to fine-tune the team ahead of the global event.

“A series like this is very beneficial for the team ahead of the World Cup. It gives the players a good opportunity to put into practice all the preparation they have done in the recent times,” she said.

Batting Strength In Focus As Team Aims For Domination

Over the years, bowling has been the strongest side for Pakistan, where batting has been a long-standing issue to be resolved. Ahead of the 2025 World Cup, the team focused on strengthening this area during a 14-day camp at Gaddafi Stadium. With preparations complete, skipper Fatima Sana is confident in the lineup’s batting firepower.

“Everyone knows Pakistan rely on their bowling attack, so this time our focus will be on getting more support from the batting unit as well. We worked a lot on batting during the camp,” Sana said.

Starting on September 16, Pakistan Women will face South Africa Women in a three-match ODI series at the Gaddafi Stadium. Wrapping up the series, the Women in Green will start their World Cup journey against Bangladesh Women on October 2.
