“They like shisha…”: Michael Hussey gives a sneak peak of MS Dhoni’s CSK lounge room

Former Australian cricketer and CSK veteran Michael Hussey has lifted the curtains on MS Dhoni’s 24/7 CSK lounge room, where players are allowed to go in and enjoy the atmosphere at any time of the day. While speaking on a podcast, the CSK batting coach said that Dhoni set up the special lounge room in a bid to create a dressing room environment, where all CSK teammates can bond with each other.

The former Australian top-order batter even shed light on the happenings of the lounge room, thus giving a sneak peak of this exclusive set-up for ardent fans of MS Dhoni and of the CSK franchise.

Michael Hussey calls MS Dhoni “the most amazing guy”

While speaking on The Overlap Cricket, Michael Hussey praised MS Dhoni for creating a dressing room atmosphere in the CSK where youngsters and seniors alike can bond freely. The CSK batting coach shed a light on Dhoni’s lounge room where all players are allowed to enter at any time of the day, where they can just “sit around and talk cricket.”

Michael Hussey said:

“MS Dhoni is just the most amazing guy, his room is available open 24 hours a day. So, anyone can go up there and just sit. He has got his lounge room, players just sit around, they start talking cricket, some of them like the ‘shisha’, you know, the flavoured tobacco stuff.”

Michael Hussey further praised CSK zealot MS Dhoni for opening up his room for players, where they can even bring their own food for socialising. He added:

“So, that is their way of socialising and things like that. Credit to Dhoni, he opens his room up, lots of players go up, they bring food up, it is fantastic.”

MS Dhoni is set to reprise his role for CSK next year in IPL 2026 as the legendary five-time title-winning skipper was retained by the franchise last month ahead of the auction.

Ruturaj Gaikwad is set to continue as team captain, as confirmed by CSK a couple of weeks ago.
