Afghanistan coach Jonathan Trott has started playing mind games ahead of the semi-finals. Trott believes that Afghanistan is the favorite against South Africa, citing South Africa's history of choking in crucial matches.

South Africa hasn't won a major trophy since their victory in the 1998 Champions Trophy. Since then, they have choked multiple times in ICC tournaments.

Trott mocks South Africa's Choking tendancy

Notable examples include their loss against Australia in the 1999 World Cup and their blunder in reading the rain rules against Sri Lanka in the 2003 World Cup.

"We go into the semi-final with no scarring or no history with regards to semi-finals. This is uncharted territory for us"-said Trott ahead of the game.

"We're just going to go out there and give it our all. There's no preconceived ideas on it all, or history of failure or success in semi-finals in past years."

Trott believes that since Afghanistan hasn't played at this level before, they will approach the game without fear. In contrast, South Africa has a history of choking in high-stakes matches, which could work to Afghanistan's advantage.

Jonathan Trott, the former English player who won the Ashes as a player, was actually born in South Africa.
