Just before the big match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2025, fans got to see a fun moment between old friends MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo. During a practice session, Dhoni spotted Bravo walking towards him and jokingly said, “The traitor is here,” making everyone around laugh and enjoy the friendly reunion.

MS Dhoni Returns As CSK Captain

This season took a surprising turn when Dhoni returned as CSK’s captain after regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out due to an elbow injury. Dhoni now has the big task of turning things around for CSK, who have had a rough start this year. 

Interestingly, Dhoni’s first challenge as captain is against his former teammate Bravo, now part of the rival team, KKR. Even though Bravo is with KKR now as their bowling coach, he and Dhoni still share a strong bond. The two have spent many years playing together for CSK and built a solid friendship.


Dwayne Bravo's Stint With CSK

Bravo played for CSK in two stints - from 2011 to 2015, and then from 2018 to 2022. He was also CSK’s bowling coach in the 2023 and 2024 IPL seasons before switching to KKR in 2025, replacing Gautam Gambhir as the team’s mentor. Gambhir, on the other hand, has taken over as the head coach of the Indian cricket team.

Bravo has been a big part of CSK’s success, playing under Dhoni in four title-winning seasons - 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2022. But now, he’s trying to help KKR stop Dhoni and his team from making a comeback.

CSK Looking To Bounce Back

This year hasn’t been great for CSK so far. They’ve lost four matches in a row and have only managed to win their opening game against Mumbai Indians. But with Dhoni back as captain, fans are hoping things will improve and CSK will bounce back in the tournament.
