Not many bowlers in the world love facing Rohit Sharma. In the past, many bowlers have said that Rohit is the toughest batter to bowl to. The latest on that list is Mark Wood

The England fast bowler has acknowledged the challenges of facing Rohit Sharma on the 22 yards. Wood, known for his express pace, admitted that Rohit's batting style haunts him, describing it as a nightmare.

Rohit, popularly known as the 'Hitman', currently stands as one of the premier batters in modern-day cricket, and his ability to hit big sixes against the quickest bowlers in the world like Wood places him in a league of his own.

His remarkable statistics in ODIs and T20Is attest to his batting excellence. The 36-year-old from Mumbai is the second-fastest batter to reach 10,000 runs in ODIs, and in T20Is, he ranks as the second-highest run-scorer of all time.

Setting himself apart in cricket history, Rohit is the sole batter to achieve three double centuries in ODIs and four centuries in T20Is while batting as an opener.

In a candid revelation, Wood highlighted Rohit's versatility, praising his ability to execute classical shots along with effortlessly dispatching the ball for sixes. The English bowler acknowledged the sheer joy of watching Rohit's batting highlights but humorously lamented the realisation that those remarkable shots were delivered against him on the field.

"The batter who gives me a nightmare is Rohit Sharma - he has got all classical shots, at the same time, hit sixes with ease. He is good to watch, going through highlights and thinking - "Ah, What a shot" & then realise it's against me,”  said Mark Wood on Rohit Sharma.

Regarding the head-to-head record between Wood and Rohit, the English pacer has managed to dismiss the Indian skipper once in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. In their recent encounter in Lucknow, Rohit emerged as the winner, taking Wood to the cleaners, including a gigantic six.

Wood will face Rohit again when England tours India next year for the five-match Test series, scheduled to be played from January 25 to March 11.
