In a significant development, England have named a formidable 16-member squad for the upcoming five-match Test series against India in their backyard. Veteran all-rounder Ben Stokes will lead the team, which is an amalgamation of experience and youth. Promising pacer Gus Atkinson has received his maiden call-up alongside spinners Tom Hartley and Shoaib Bashir.

Experienced right-handed batter Zak Crawley will open the batting alongside Ben Duckett, with Ollie Pope slotted at number three.

Former captain Joe Root will likely bat at his preferred number four position, with Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes and Ben Foakes set to form the lower middle order.

Veteran bowler Jack Leach will spearhead the spin bowling department along with Tom Hartley, Shoaib Bashir and young prodigy Rehan Ahmed.

Talking about the pace bowling options, legendary speedster James Anderson will lead the pack alongside Mark Wood, Gus Atkinson and Ollie Robinson.
