The 50th match of IPL 2024 treated fans with the season's most thrilling game as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a narrow one-run victory against table-toppers Rajasthan Royals (RR).

In a tense final ball, with Rovman Powell at the crease and two runs needed off the final ball, SRH's Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered a low full toss that trapped Powell leg before wicket (LBW).

This wicket evoked memories of the Mumbai Indians versus Chennai Super Kings final in 2019, where Lasith Malinga dismissed Shardul Thakur in a similar fashion with two runs required off the last ball.

Cummins and T Natarajan got crucial breakthroughs by getting wickets of Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal respectively to bring SRH back in the game.

Rovman Powell though stood tall and it call came down to the final ball where experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar turned out to be a hero and took SRH over the line.

Following the match, SRH skipper Cummins conveyed his delight win win.

"I am good, was an amazing game. That's T20 cricket. Anything can happen, Bhuvi executed that last ball. You try to take some wickets in the middle. Natarajan is a good yorker bowler, fortunately we got some wickets. Played some games here, thought 200 could have been chased down. He (Nitish Reddy) sums up the conditions pretty well, he's amazing, great in the field, gives some overs with the ball as well."

The SRH victory has pushed CSK out of the top four, with SRH now claiming the number 4 spot. IPL 2024 promises an intense finish in the league stage, with no clear favorites for playoffs except for the leaders, Rajasthan Royals, who found themselves on the losing side tonight.
