On Monday, July 15, England suffered another heartbreak as the Three Lions lost to Spain in the Euro Cup finals. It was their second straight defeat in the finals as England also lost to Italy in the 2020 Euros.

Following the defeat, the players were under heavy criticism for their underwhelming performance. Meanwhile, rising star Jude Bellingham hogged the internet for drawing parallel between cricket and football. 

After the defeat, Bellingham stated that the fans should understand that international football is different from the club level and compared it with T20 cricket and Test cricket. 

“We reached another final, we came to win, but we fell short. I think it could have been a lot better. But people need to understand that international football and club football are different. Kind of like T20 cricket is different from test cricket. Different styles. You’re exhausted… what you have to do is to be more clever,” Bellingham said.

It is not the first time that Bellingham has expressed his love for cricket as the Real Madrid player has previously talked about playing cricket and even a video went viral of him batting in the nets.

It is worth noting that Jude was once a part of his school's cricket team as well. Talking about the Euro Cup 2024 final, India's star spinner Kuldeep Yadav was also present in Berlin to watch the match and he rightly predicted the final scoreline of the final in the pre-match show.
