The banter continues off the field for Jasprit Bumrah as well, as the 31-year-old reacted hilariously to a journalist’s phone ringing during a press conference following his Lord’s heroics on Day 2 of the third Test.

Jasprit Bumrah had a successful outing, removing Ben Stokes early in the day and finishing with five crucial wickets to add to his already-decorated tally of wicket-taking records. 

Bumrah Reacts To Reporter's Phone Mid-Interview

A light-hearted moment stole the show when a reporter’s phone began ringing mid-interview, and the call turned out to be from the reporter’s wife.

While answering a question in the press conference, Bumrah paused mid-sentence to glance at the ringing phone placed among the microphones on the table. With a grin, he remarked, “Somebody's wife is calling... So I have not picked it up... I will just leave it that way,” sparking a burst of laughter across the press room. Bumrah chuckled along and even admitted that the distraction made him forget what he was saying.

Bumrah's Happy Married Life With Sanjana

For those unaware, Bumrah is married to sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Goa on March 15, 2021, after first meeting during an IPL interview back in 2013. Their family grew with the birth of their son Angad on September 4, 2023. Together, they manage to balance Bumrah’s packed cricket schedule and Sanjana’s high-profile media career with a strong and supportive partnership.

Meanwhile, Bumrah will likely enjoy some rest on Day 3 as India resumes batting after ending Day 2 on a shaky note. The visitors lost three wickets already and trail by 242 runs, with KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant at the crease. Fans now look forward to another thrilling day of Test cricket at Lord’s on July 12.
