KL Rahul, India's temporary captain for the initial two ODIs against the Aussies has done a commendable job as India have take an unassailable lead of 2-0 at Indore with a thumping win of 99 runs. Rahul himself has been brilliant with the bat and has scored two consecutive fifties, playing perfectly according to the varied conditions in both the games.

He looked pretty happy after the win and credited a complete team performance for their dominance over the Aussies in the absence of some players. KL Rahul mentioned that he did not expect the wicket to turn as it did, but felt that having quality finger spinners helped them.

"When I saw the wicket in the morning, I didn't think it will spin that much but having quality finger spinners in your team does help you. Defending 400 also gives you a bit of confidence. First over where the ball spun, it turned the game."

KL Rahul also shed light on India's conundrum regarding their best playing XI and said that it is not in his hand as a player and it is upto the coach and Rohit Sharma. He added that their job is to do well when they are picked and just keep working hard when they are not playing. He also stated that sitting out on the bench after scoring runs can be hard but everyone has gone through it and one has to deal with it.

[Deciding a playing XI] "It's not really our decision to make as players. It's our coach and Rohit when he comes back. Our roles are very clear. Whoever gets picked in the XI has a job to do for his country and everyone looks at it that way and if you are not playing in the XI then you just keep working hard and wish well for the other guys and wish that your team keeps winning. Sitting out can be hard after scoring a lot of runs but that's how the sport goes and everyone has gone through that. It will always be that way so you just deal with it and try to work hard, keep getting better and wait for your opportunities."

The third ODI between India and Australia will be played at Rajkot on Wednesday, 27th of September.
