Chennai Super Kings legendary batter Suresh Raina has allured BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) chief selector Ajit Agarkar to look ahead of Hardik Pandya and select Shivam Dube for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. 

The cricket fans and fraternity are all buzzing around in excitement and expectation ahead of the upcoming and much-anticipated marquee tournament the T20 World Cup, after the end of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. 

Suresh Raina has backed Shivam Dube after the left-hander batter smashed an explosive 66 runs off 27 balls against the Lucknow Super Giants with three fours and seven maximums. 

The batter has been in premium form in the ongoing IPL and also for domestic cricket.

Suresh Raina publicly requested BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar to consider and make place for Shivam Dube for selection in the T20 World Cup squad and he wrote on 'X' (formerly Twitter)- "World Cup loading for Shivam dube ! @imAagarkar bhai select karo please," he wrote.

The star batter of CSK has scored 311 runs in eight matches at a strike-rate of 169.94.

Amidst the upheaval for Dube's inclusion questions are being raised regarding his role as an all-rounder. Despite being known for his ability to bowl seam-bowling, his utility with the ball is still not explored well raising concerns regarding his versatility and flexibility on the international stage. 

Chennai Super Kings will play its next fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 28, 2024.
