The match 40 of IPL 2024 turned out to be another thriller as Delhi Capitals registered a narrow 4-run win against Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans. The match went right down to the wire, and it came down to GT needing five off the final ball. Rashid Khan was the batter and he had hit the previous ball for six, but failed to repeat that on the last ball to leave all GT fans heartbroken.

Rashid Khan too was absolutely dejected after the loss along with Shubman Gill and David Miller which shows what this match meant to them. It was a roller-coaster of the game with Delhi Capitals hammering 224 in the first innings despite losing three wickets in the Powerplay.

Rishabh Pant scored 88 off just 43 balls and in reply, GT got off to a decent start with Saha and Sai Sudharsan counter-attacking after Gill's wicket. Miller then provided the impetus in the later half and Rashid Khan along with Sai Kishore almost pulled off the chase with stunning hitting in the final few overs.

This was GT's fifth loss in 9 games, and they need to start winning consistently from hereon to stake a claim for that all-important playoff spot.
