Indian cricket fans have only two sides to themselves; they are all praiseworthy or heavily critical.  Former India player and current head coach Rahul Dravid, who has mostly seen the best of Indian fans, has managed to get on the wrong side of the opinions for his strange decisions lately.

In the ongoing West Indies tour, Dravid and management rested skipper Rohit Sharma and veteran batter Virat Kohli in the second One-Day International (ODI), much to the disappointment of fans. The trend continued in the third and final ODI as well on Tuesday, which was also the series decider.

Dravid opted to shun popular opinion of playing both players and instead drafted Ruturaj Gaikwad and Jaydev Unadkat for the all-important match.

This call did not go well with Indian cricket fans, who trolled and lashed out at Dravid and Co. for their thought process, which also baffled former players such as Aakash Chopra and RP Singh.

Led by stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya visitors ended up winning the third and final ODI at Trinidad by 200 runs, thus clinching the three-match series 2-1, much to the delight of Indian fans, who were left fuming after the side's loss in the second encounter on July 29.

Team India will now play a five-match T20I series against West Indies spread across the Caribbean and USA, which starts on Thursday.

Voices about Dravid's removal as head coach have been on the rise since India's World Test Championship 2023 Final loss against Australia in June.

The 50-year-old who took over from the highly successful coach Ravi Shastri has failed to win any major title during his tenure, which includes T20 World Cup 2021 and 2022 and Asia Cup 2022 tournaments. Under Dravid, India also lost the ODI series against South Africa, Bangladesh, and Australia, respectively.
