Mohammad Rizwan doesn’t beat around the bush. The Pakistan ODI skipper recently came clean on the toughest bowler he has faced in his career so far and it’s none other than India’s lethal pace machine, Jasprit Bumrah.

Rizwan Names Bumrah As His Toughest Opponent

Mohammad Rizwan was part of a candid sit-down chat with teammates Fakhar Zaman and Naseem Shah, hosted by former pacer Wahab Riaz. In what turned out to be a pretty fun and chilled-out session, Wahab threw in a spicy question: “Who’s the most difficult player you’ve faced?”

Without missing a beat, Rizwan recalled his early days when Aussie quick Josh Hazlewood gave him sleepless nights. But now, the man making him break a sweat is Jasprit Bumrah.

“When I started playing international cricket, I felt Josh Hazlewood was the toughest I faced. But now it is Jasprit Bumrah,” Rizwan admitted.

And honestly, can you blame him? Jasprit Bumrah has been in red-hot form and has made even the best in the business look like newbies with that unique action and deadly accuracy.

Pakistan’s Struggles Continue In New Zealand

While Rizwan was all praise for Bumrah off the field, things haven’t been going too well on it either. Pakistan is currently touring New Zealand for an ODI series and the Kiwis handed them a thumping 73-run defeat in the first game.

Pakistan looked like they had one hand on the chase of 345, especially with Babar Azam cruising on 78. But once Babar fell, the rest of the batting line-up folded like a deck of cards. Rizwan too couldn’t steady the ship this time.

The Men in Green, led by Rizwan, will aim to bounce back in the second ODI on Wednesday, April 2 at Seddon Park in Hamilton.
