With franchise cricket ruling the roost, fast-paced cricket taking centre stage, and the T20 format emerging as the crowd favourite, Test cricket, the epitome of the sports, has found it challenging to attract viewership and engage fans.

That being said, the tides are turning in recent times. England's implementation of Bazball tactics has not only taken them to the path of success against some of the strongest teams worldwide but has also garnered many eyeballs.

The ongoing Ashes Test series between England and Australia is a striking example of the evolving landscape, with all three matches played thus far delivering nail-biting finishes and keeping the fans on the edge of their seats.

In the midst of the ongoing intense Ashes Test series between the two arch-rivals, Sourav Ganguly, the former India skipper, is thoroughly impressed and stressed the importance of preserving Test cricket.

Here’s what Ganguly wrote in his Tweet:

“People keep questioning test cricket .. the last 4 test matches ..hope have shown everyone why we need to keep playing it and preserving at its best.. it’s been just absolutely breathtaking to watch .. as good as any format anywhere in the world.”

Speaking about the series thus far, Australia secured victories in the initial two Test matches, but England mounted a strong comeback in the third Test, thereby keeping the series alive. The forthcoming fourth test is scheduled to be held at Old Trafford starting from July 19.
