Team India walloped Pakistan Women by seven wickets in the second match of the 2024 Women’s T20 Asia Cup.

Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma played starring roles in the run-chase after Deepti Sharma, Renuka Singh, Shreyanka Patil and Pooja Vastrakar restricted the ‘Women in Green’ to just 108 upfront.

Summing up India’s dominant outing at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, former skipper Anjum Chopra has said that the match turned out to be a one-sided affair in contrast to the exciting build-up it received leading-in to the tournament.

Anjum Chopra says PAK batters “didn’t have an idea”

A day after India’s big win over arch-rivals Pakistan, former ‘Men in Blue’ skipper Anjum Chopra took to her YouTube channel to sum-up the events of the much-hyped match.

She said that in contrast to the anticipation it received prior to the launch of the tournament, the match turned out to be a lop-sided affair, with Team India stamping their authority across all aspects in Dambulla.

Moreover, Anjum Chopra also claimed that the current Indian team needs to play “very badly” if they are to lose to the active Pakistan cricket team.

The former cricketer further stated that Pakistan team, under Nida Das, boasts of a pretty good batting order but they seemed to have “no idea” for scoring runs against the Indian bowling attack.

Emboldened by the huge win, Team India will now face UAE Women in Dambulla in the fifth match of the 2024 Women’s T20 Asia Cup on July 21. The Pakistan team, meanwhile, will go up against Nepal Women in a must-win game latter on the same day at the same venue.
