India's latest pace sensation Mayank Yadav had a memorable debut as he oozed his class with the ball in the first T20I against Bangladesh in Gwalior. The speedster, who grabbed a million eyeballs through his bowling exploits in the IPL 2024, kept the Tigers under the pump throughout his spell. 

Renowned for his searing pace, Mayank Yadav also exhibited exemplary control with the ball in the Gwalior T20I. His fiery spell spoke volumes for not only his ability but also his maturity as a fast bowler at a tender age. 

Following his impressive T20I debut, Mayank reckoned that although he focuses on delivering the ball at a brisk pace, he also emphasises hitting the right areas, as accuracy is the key to success in international cricket. 

The right-arm pacer also explained the IPL's importance in shaping his skills, shedding light on the significance of line and length for a fast bowler. 

"My pace is always at the back of my mind, but throughout my IPL journey, I've learned that consistency is key in this format, especially at the international level. Line and length are crucial, and being consistent really helps as the batters starts to respect you. So, recently, I've been focusing more on being consistent with my line and length," Mayank Yadav said, as quoted by PTI. 

Mayank Reveals His Mindset Before T20I Debut

The speedster revealed that he had butterflies in his stomach before receiving the T20I cap, as he had been out of action due to an injury. 

"I was excited, but to be honest, I was a little more nervous because I was making a comeback almost three-four months after my injury. I hadn't had many opportunities to play competitive cricket, and then suddenly got the chance to make my international debut. So, I was a bit nervous," he added. 

Mayank Yadav In Spotlight As India Eye Series Victory

Mayank Yadav, who got the prized scalp of Mahmudullah in the first T20I, will again be in action when India face Bangladesh in the penultimate encounter in Delhi. All eyes will be on the fast bowler, as he would be keen to deliver a memorable spell and script the hosts' series win.
