In the ongoing match between Pakistan and England at the Multan Cricket Ground, Pakistan skipper Shan Masood missed out on a well-deserving double-hundred.
In the first of a three-match series, Shan Masood won the toss, and Pakistan opted to bat first. The decision turned out to be a masterstroke as, at the time of writing this article, Pakistan are 280/3 after 66 overs.
Shan Masood And Abdullah Shafiqul Shines For Pakistan
Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique were the stars with the bat as they both smashed centuries, respectively. While Shafique amassed 102 (184), Masood was the leading run-getter for his side with a brilliant 151 (177).
Masood's knock featured 13 fours and two sixes. The southpaw missed out on a well-deserved double-hundred and a simple catch to Jack Leach off his own bowling. On the 3rd ball of the 63rd over, Masood gave an easy catch to Leach, who picked up his first wicket of the series.
Shan Masood Century: PAK Skipper Scripts Several Milestones
Masood, who was under the scanner before this Test for his performance, smashed his century after four years. Interestingly, he took just 102 deliveries to reach his hundred, which is the fastest ton for Pakistan since Misbah-Ul-Haq's 56 balls heroics against Australia in 2014.
Further, Masood and Abdullah Shafique stitched the fourth highest stand for Pakistan for 2nd wicket in Tests.
