Babar Azam and Virat Kohli are often compared due to their impressive batting techniques, especially their graceful cover drives and a commanding presence on the field. As the premier batters for Pakistan and India, respectively, the debate surrounding who is better has become a constant talking point in the world of modern cricket.

While their achievements make them standout stars in their own right, former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has weighed in on the debate, stating there is no fair comparison between the two.

Danish Kaneria's View On The Comparison

In an exclusive interview with India.com, Kaneria dismissed the constant comparison between Babar Azam and Virat Kohli, calling it unfair. He pointed out Kohli's extensive experience and contributions to Indian cricket, which set him apart.

"Virat has scored truckloads of runs for India across formats and in different conditions. He has won India many games. He is a world-class player. There is no comparison between the two," Kaneria stated.

Kaneria further added that the comparison between Babar and Virat should only be made after both players have retired, allowing for a complete assessment of their careers.

"You should make these comparisons based on their stats after the players retire," Kaneria added.

A Statistical Comparison of Kohli and Babar

Virat Kohli's career numbers are remarkable. In T20Is, he has accumulated 4,188 runs, while in ODIs, he has an astonishing 13,906 runs, ranking third in ODI history as the batter with most runs with 50 centuries. In Test cricket, Kohli has scored 8,848 runs with 29 hundreds.

Babar Azam, though still growing as a player, has impressive stats but trails behind Kohli. He has 3,962 runs in Tests, 5,729 runs in ODIs, and 4,145 runs in T20Is. Although a stellar player, Babar’s career is yet to reach Kohli's heights.
