'Must Be From Another Planet...,' Broadcasting Legend Warns Against Non-Selection Of Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been in stellar form in recent times, both in Indian blue and domestic cricket. However, despite his consistent performances, he has not been able to find consistent place in any format for India.

He was brilliant in the Zimbabwe series as well and excelled in varied positions, showing his flexibility as a batter. However, despite giving his all, there are reports that he would be omitted from the Indian side for Sri Lanka T20I series with some senior players making back into the team.

Now, Harsha Bhogle has reacted on Ruturaj Gaikwad's inconsistent selection in the Indian team. Bhogle commented after the Zimbabwe series that the way Ruturaj Gaikwad has batted in recent times, it would be very surprising if he does not make it to the Indian team and also reckoned that the current CSK captain is the next Indian superstar.

"If you came out of nowhere, saw Ruturaj Gaikwad batting in his last 3-4 matches and you say if he doesn't make it to the team, then this Indian team must be from another planet. He's the next superstar."

The Sri Lanka series will be the first assignment for Gautam Gambhir as India's head coach and it would be interesting to see how they go about their business after the historic T20 World Cup win.
