Legendary Australian wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist recently acknowledged MS Dhoni as the greatest wicket-keeper in cricket history by choosing the former Indian captain over himself in a fun rapid fire round. MS Dhoni, one of the most successful wicket-keepers in the history of cricket, left a remarkable legacy for the upcoming generation to follow. As the Indian cricket team captain, he won three ICC trophies and also lifted five IPL titles for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). 

The remarkable and irreplaceable legacy of MS Dhoni continues to leave even cricketing legends in awe. This was demonstrated when iconic Australian wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist unequivocally declared Dhoni as the best wicket-keeper to have ever played the game.

In a conversation on the Prairie Fire Club Podcast, Adam Gilchrist was involved in a 'This or That?' game, where he had to choose between renowned wicket-keepers. 

Starting with easier choices, Gilchrist opted for Sri Lanka's Romesh Kaluwitharana over Pakistan's Moin Khan. As the game progressed, he chose Zimbabwe's Andy Flower over the likes of Mark Boucher, Jack Russell, and Ian Healy. 

However, when it came down to MS Dhoni versus Flower, Gilchrist immediately conceded to the Indian legend. Eventually, when the choice came down between him and MS, the Australian great choice MS Dhoni, citing the success the latter had as Indian captain.

Through these comparisons, Adam Gilchrist's respect for MS Dhoni highlights the lasting influence of Indian wicket-keepers in world cricket.

Rishabh Pant surpasses MS Dhoni in a rare milestone

Rishabh Pant's return to Test cricket following a nearly two-year break was a blockbuster scene straight out of movies as he scored a hundred against Bangladesh in the second inning of the Chennai Test.

With that ton, he surpassed the legendary Indian wicket-keeper MS Dhoni on the list of the most hundreds scored by an Indian wicket-keeper in Test cricket. While Pant has 6 centuries in 58 innings, Dhoni slammed 6 tons in as many as 144 innings.
