Legendary Indian cricketer and Chennai Super Kings' captain MS Dhoni skipped both practice sessions ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Will MS Dhoni Play vs KKR? CSK Coach Reveals
MS Dhoni, who is leading CSK in the IPL 2025 in Ruturaj Gaikwad's absence, skipped his team's both practice sessions at Eden Gardens before the crucial face-off against KKR. As Dhoni couldn't be seen during the intense batting and fielding sessions, fans became curious to know about his availability for Wednesday's encounter.
Considering Dhoni has been battling with a knee injury for quite a while now, an unfortunate fitness issue is always a probability. However, CSK's bowling coach Eric Simons cleared the air surrounding Dhoni's fitness, confirming that he will feature in the upcoming game at Eden Gardens.
“Yes, he's expected to play tomorrow. With regards to MS, he knows his situation very well. He knows where he is. In terms of his preparations, he always works very hard at the beginning of a tournament and then allows himself to taper off because he gets himself in a space where he's ready. So no issues, he just knows when he is prepared and when he's not," Simons stated in the pre-match presser, as quoted by the Hindustan Times.
MS Dhoni's Form In IPL 2025
Swashbuckling keeper-batter MS Dhoni has struggled with the bat in IPL 2025. Despite playing a few quick-fire cameos, Dhoni has been nowhere close to his best, failing to finish several close matches for CSK. Considering the Super Kings are already out of the playoffs race, it will be interesting if they can derail KKR's campaign with a victory against the odds.
