MS Dhoni's status as a demi-god seems to follow him wherever he plays, but at the Chepauk stadium, the home of the Chennai Super Kings, his reception reaches godly proportions.

During yesterday's match between KKR and CSK at Chepauk, Andre Russell couldn't help but be astonished by the adoration Dhoni received. Andre Russell took to his Instagram to express his admiration for MS Dhoni, declaring him as the most beloved cricketer in the world.

Andre Russell is someone who is accustomed to cheers and loud chants himself at the thunderous atmosphere at Eden Gardens whenever he steps out to bat. However what he saw in Chepauk was different. When MS Dhoni strode to the crease at number 5, donning his gloves, the roar of the Chepauk crowd reached unprecedented levels. 

It was the first time this season Dhoni had batted at Chepauk, and the crowd erupted in celebration. Russell was surprised by the loud noise and had to cover up his ears in disbelief.
