Mohammed Amir has been one of the most celebrated bowlers in Pakistan in the last decade or so despite controversies surrounding him. He has now retired from international cricket, but is still going strong in T20 leagues around the world and is currently playing PSL 2025.

Amir is expected to get UK citizenship soon with his wife being the British citizen, and that it has opened up an option for Amir to play in the 2026 edition of the IPL. Since the time he has  revealed his wish to play in the Indian league, various questions over his loyalty for Pakistan have been raised.

Mohammed Amir Opens Up On Tough Choice Between PSL And IPL

The pacer though has remained practical, and has has emphasised on his fondness for IPL. Now in a recent interview with Qadir Khawaja, Mohammad Amir has once again delivered his neutral stance. He stated that he does not think that the two leagues will collide next year, and added that it happened this time only because of Champions Trophy 2025.

He stated that he cannot pull out of the league that selects him first. Thus, the pacer mentions that if he gets selected in the IPL, he cannot stay away from that league, and if he has to miss PSL for that, he would do so. He also mentioned that the opposite situation also holds true, and he could miss IPL too because of PSL.

Mohammed Amir is currently playing for Quetta Gladiators in PSL 2025, and has four wickets in three matches. He last played for Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2024, and did quite well, but continues to have poor relations with the PCB. Thus, it would be interesting to see how Amir goes about his business once he gets UK citizenship.
