Enjoying global praise and fanfare, Indian cricketers would be forever grateful of their loved ones, who are their truest fans as they stick firm with them in tough times.

Similarly, Siraj would've loved his 'Abbu' to still be here watching him pull off special feat for the country after undergoing extensive hardships to make his son play the game.

Mohammed Siraj's Heartfelt Post For Late Father

Siraj's father passed away during his maiden Test tour for India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 when the young promising quick famously decided to stay put in Australia rather than quickly fly back to attend his father's funeral.

The 29-year-old had to decide whether he would leave the tour with a no-return flight to India amidst bio-security regulations during Covid-19 pandemic that compelled a 14-day quarantine for all tourists coming Down Under or continue playing the Test series and miss seeing his father for the one last time.

Only 26 then, Siraj bit the toughest of bullets and persisted with his playing duties, insisting it would've been his father's wish to see him continue for India. The right-arm seamer went on to play an instrumental role in India's epic 2-1 Test series victory with 13 wickets in three matches, including a five-fer in the series-deciding Test in Brisbane.

It's only fitting that Siraj would miss his father when he is being hailed as one of the heroes of India's mighty campaign at the World Cup 2023 with 13 scalps in 10 matches.
