'Love To See India Beat Australia,' Says Graeme Swann Ahead of WTC Finals

The Australia versus England rivalry has always been a very intense one. While the World Test Championship Final is not between these two teams, the Englishmen will be hosting the event and Australia will be playing in the finale. With just a day to go for the WTC final, former England spinner Graeme Swann has backed the Men in Blue to defeat Australia.

Team India looks all set to play their second WTC finals but the fight for the trophy will not be an easy one. The images circulated of the pitch showcase extra support to the pacers, providing an upper edge to the Australian team.

However, ahead of the WTC finals, in a discussion with Jio Cinema, Graeme Swann was asked to pick up the winners and his opinion on the pitch.

Swann wants India to defeat Australia

Speaking about the pitch, Swann acknowledged that it could possibly resemble the one in India which provides assistance to the spinners. Furthermore, he mentioned that while India may include both Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin in their WTC Final playing XI, it wasn't an ideal thing to do.

"It's a tricky one to answer who are the early favorites. I think Australia's pace attack makes them favorites if they bowl first. However, the wicket at this time of the year should be very good. It tends to be pretty flat, pretty quick, and maybe a bit of a grass covering, and their seamers might exploit that early on. My prediction for the game is this - I am an Englishman, I would love to see India beat Australia, please," Graeme Swann said.

Meanwhile, with too many options, it'll be interesting to see what combination does India choose in order to defeat Australia and pick up the title of the Test champions of the 2021-2023 cycle. Meanwhile, Australia have already announced their playing set of playing for the pinnacle match.
