Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq recently disclosed a significant moment of reconciliation with Indian stalwart Virat Kohli during the World Cup 2023.

Naveen disclosed how Kohli's initiative ended tension between the two

This heartwarming incident, marking the end of their much-discussed feud, occurred during the match between India and Afghanistan on October 11, 2023, in Delhi.

The origin of the rift between Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq dates back to an Indian Premier League (IPL) match in 2023, where Kohli was representing Royal Challengers Bangalore and Naveen was playing for the Lucknow Super Giants. A fiery exchange during this match nearly led to a post-game confrontation, becoming a prominent topic in the IPL season.

However, the situation took a positive turn at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Following Rohit Sharma's innings during the game, Naveen approached Kohli, leading to a handshake, an exchange of smiles, and a hug, marking the end of their animosity. This gesture was well-received by the audience and commentators.

In a conversation with the Lucknow Supergiants, Naveen elaborated on how Kohli initiated the reconciliation. He mentioned that Kohli expressed a desire to put an end to their feud. Naveen agreed, and the two shared a laugh and a hug, moving past the incident. Kohli also assured Naveen that the crowd's support for him would grow, leaving behind any negative sentiments associated with their past disagreements.

"He told me 'let's finish it.' I said yeah let's finish it. We laughed about it, we hugged and moved on. He also said that after this you won't hear my name. You will only hear support from the crowd," said Naveen.
