Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has vehemently criticised Pakistani cricket fans for their derogatory comments aimed at the Indian U19 team following their defeat in the U19 World Cup Final against Australia. Pathan condemned the negative behaviour of these 'keyboard warriors', highlighting the unsportsmanlike conduct displayed by some sections of the Pakistani fanbase.

Despite India's U19 team displaying commendable talent throughout the tournament, they fell short against a formidable Australian side in the final, losing by 79 runs.

This loss marked India's third consecutive defeat against Australia in major cricketing events, following losses in the World Test Championship Final and the ODI World Cup Final.

Expressing his frustration on Twitter, Pathan emphasized the need for a more positive and supportive attitude towards young cricketers.

His use of the hashtag #padosi, a nod to a previous instance of trolling by Pakistani fans during the 2022 T20 World Cup, underscored the recurring nature of such behaviour.

The final saw Australia deliver a stellar performance, particularly with their pace attack, which effectively dismantled India's batting lineup. Despite India's efforts, Australia's record-setting total of 253 runs proved insurmountable, securing them the U19 World Cup 2024 title.
