Team India seems to have landed on a settled playing unit, with spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav firing on all cylinders throughout their 2023 World Cup crusade thus far. A day before the team's much-awaited clash against New Zealand in Dharamsala, head coach Rahul Dravid signified the importance of the two spinners in the side. Also, he praised captain Rohit Sharma for doing a commendable job in handling them.

In a pre-match press conference, Indian coach Rahul Dravid claimed that the team does not intend to focus too much on opposition players.

A former cricketer himself, Dravid hailed India's in-form bowling unit, one which skittled Australia for just 199 and Pakistan for just 191 in the tournament. The 50-year-old praised Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav for their consistent wicket-taking abilities and stated that their presence in the playing XI gives variations to the bowling department.

Dravid further commended Indian captain Rohit Sharma for doing a great job in handling the two in-form Indian spinners. He said:

“We don't want to focus on opposition players our prime job is to take wickets and our bowlers know their job well. It's nice to have Jadeja and Kuldeep on our last games and these two gave variations on our bowling department. Rohit is doing a great job in handling them.”

Ravindra Jadeja claimed three Australian wickets in India's tournament opener and snared two victims each in the team's subsequent challenges against Pakistan and Bangladesh. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav picked two crucial wickets each against Australia and Pakistan, and his current World Cup 2023 tally stands at six wickets from just four games.

To sustain India's unbeaten run so far in the competition, the 'Men in Blue' will turn up in Dharamsala on October 22 to face New Zealand.
