Ravindra Jadeja To Miss New Zealand Game? Big Injury Concern For Team India

India has been in stellar form in World Cup 2023 and have notched up four comprehensive wins in as many matches to start off the World Cup with a bang. However, ahead of a big game against New Zealand at Dharamsala, India are battling injury concerns to two of their star all-rounders. Hardik Pandya has been already ruled out of the game after a freak ankle injury against Bangladesh and now there are reports that Ravindra Jadeja too has some issue with his knee and concerns were raised about his availability for the game against the Kiwis.

Ravindra Jadeja has been battling with knee issues from couple of years now. He missed the T20 World Cup 2022 due to a knee injury and underwent a surgery that kept him out of action for quite sometime. However, knee injuries are always tricky and tend to resurface if proper care is not taken.

The same was emphasised by an unnamed official from BCCI according to InsideSport, who reassured that Jadeja is fine and ready for the New Zealand game.

This is what an unnamed BCCI official said -

"Jadeja is fine. When you have surgery, you need long-term care. Knee injuries are such that they tend to hurt back. That is why he was applying an ice pack. There is no immediate concern regarding his niggle. The medical team and the physios are keeping a tab on all the players including Jadeja," the unnamed official was quoted as saying by InsideSport.

Hardik Pandya's absence has already created some selection issues for India as all-rounder's absence is set to dent India's balance. In this scenario, India cannot afford to lose Ravindra Jadeja and billions of Indian fans would be hoping that Jadeja is fit and raring to go as the all-rounder has performed brilliantly with the ball so far. India will play New Zealand at Dharamsala on 22nd of October and with both teams unbeaten so far, we can expect a cracking contest between two quality sides.
