In the aftermath of India's exceptional win over Pakistan in the World Cup 2023, vice-captain Hardik Pandya couldn't help but be in awe of skipper Rohit Sharma's explosive innings.

Rohit revealed to Hardik about his chat with Erasmus

Delivering a remarkable performance at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, Rohit Sharma scored an electrifying 86 off 63 balls, an innings decorated with six enormous maximums.

One of the most memorable moments from the clash was when Rohit, after launching a massive 90-metre six off Pakistan's Haris Rauf over the covers, approached umpire Marais Erasmus, showing off his biceps and wearing a grin that spanned from ear to ear. This cheeky celebration caught Hardik's attention, who enquired about it after the IND vs PAK clash.

Rohit, sharing the light-hearted exchange he had with the umpire, mentioned Erasmus was intrigued by how he managed to hit such a colossal six and wondered if there was something special in his bat.

In a classic Rohit style, he responded, "It’s not the bat, it’s the power" as he flexed his muscles to the umpire. The camaraderie between Hardik and Rohit was evident as they shared a laugh over the comment, riding high on the wave of their victory over the arch-rivals.

It's worth noting that Rohit not only led India to a crucial victory but also reached milestones that further cemented his place among cricketing legends. He became the first Indian cricketer to smash 300 sixes in ODIs, a feat he accomplished during this very game.

Moreover, he holds the coveted record for hitting the most sixes in international cricket, an achievement he clinched in the match against Afghanistan prior to this.

With this victory, Team India, led by Rohit is comfortably positioned at the top of the World Cup 2023 Points Table. Their next challenge will be against Bangladesh on October 19 in Pune, where they'll be looking to continue their dominant form in the tournament.
