Since Team Pakistan landed in Hyderabad, the members and support staff have received nothing but a warm and heartfelt welcome.

Currently in India for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, the Babar Azam-led side has been stationed in Hyderabad and have finally finished their leg in the city, which hosted them for two warm-ups and the first two tournament encounters.

Wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan, shined for Pakistan last evening against Sri Lanka, helping his side chase down the highest-ever World Cup target with ease, scoring a magnificent 131*.

Speaking in the post-match presser, Rizwan likened the Hyderabad crowd to that of Rawalpindi, his hometown in Pakistan.

As quoted by IndianExpress, the Multan Sultans captain lauded the overall support for his team.  Fans present in Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on Tuesday were found chanting and getting behind Pakistan players as well during the match.

Here's what Rizwan said

“Rawalpindi is my home ground, and the love the crowd showed us was like you were in Pindi. We had a great time here. This is a crowd which loves its cricket. When Sri Lanka was playing well, they were cheering for Sri Lanka and when we were playing well, they supported us. The atmosphere was wonderful,”

Pakistan will now head to Ahmedabad, and gear to face hosts India on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium.

Azam and Co. are currently placed second in the points table, with one win and one loss.
