Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa is eager to embrace coaching opportunities with open arms in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Having won the IPL twice with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Uthappa is well-acquainted with the dynamics of the cash-rich league.

With his vast experience in the IPL spanning from 2008 to 2022, Uthappa is now keen on utilizing his knowledge as a coach. He expressed his willingness to serve as a coach in the IPL if given the chance.

“It depends, I would certainly love to be involved with the team. If opportunities do come, I’ll certainly consider it. Yeah (coach), I would love to get involved in setting up…Maybe cricket operations, or director of cricket, where I feel like, I know what it takes or give a team the best chance to win the game,"  Robin Uthappa told IANS after his brilliant innings of 53 helped Harare Hurricanes beat Durban Qalandars in Zim Afro T10 League.

Drawing from his experiences with different IPL teams, Uthappa believes he can contribute by establishing effective structures that lead to success. The veteran batter is passionate about creating winning strategies and would gladly consider any such coaching opportunities that arise.

“Because I’ve been with different teams and I know how good teams work, can set structures in place which will help achieve them, something I love to do. So those opportunities, come up I’ll certainly consider them,”  added Uthappa.

Having retired from all forms of cricket in September the previous year, Uthappa is currently showcasing his skills as part of the Harare Hurricanes in the ongoing Zim Afro T10 League. As he embarks on this new chapter, the IPL's seasoned campaigner is ready to give back to the league that has been an integral part of his cricketing journey.
