'I'll be Leaving Him out...': Former Ashes Winner Criticises Jimmy Anderson

Former England captain and Ashes winner, Michael Vaughan has lambasted Jimmy Anderson for his performances in the first two Ashes Test match.

The England legend, Anderson, has looked out of sorts and has picked up just 3 wickets in four innings, and as a result, Vaughan wants the team management to drop Anderson for the third Test match at Headingley.

Interestingly, Anderson picked up just a solitary wicket in the first Test at Edgbaston, and aftermath stated that if the pitches continue to be flat, he'll be done for the remainder of the series.

Talking about the second Test at Lord's, Anderson picked up a wicket each in both the innings and has been a shadow of himself in the ongoing series. As a result, Vaughan has advised the England team management to drop the champion bowler for the next game. He advised England to include Mark Wood, who has that extra pace and can trouble the Aussie batters.

“There are three Tests to go after this and he certainly can't play everyone. I'll be leaving him out next week. He's just had no impact, he's an incredible performer but you see him drop catches in the field. I've not seen that from Jimmy Anderson, he's so sharp in the field,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

“His bowling has just lacked that zip and if England are going to turn to the short ball theory, surely they are going to have to go to a Mark Wood with a little bit of extra pace,” Anderson added.

Talking about the second Test, despite Ben Stokes' heroics, England couldn't cross the line as Australia eventually won the game by 43 runs.
