And the disappointment continues as the wait to bounce back becomes longer for the Men in Green. Following setbacks in the Champions Trophy and the T20I series against New Zealand, their ODI campaign ended in disaster, suffering a crushing whitewash in the three-match series.

On the Kiwi soil, the Men in Green struggled and registered another disappointing series. Despite the setback, skipper Mohammad Rizwan chose to focus on the positives, shifting his excitement toward the upcoming PSL.

Despite Setbacks, Rizwan Finds Positives

Another series ended with immense disappointment for the Pakistani side. After losing the T20I series by 4-1, the woes deepened in the three-match ODI series as they faced a whitewash against the Kiwis. Their batting let them down in the entire ODI series. Despite Akif Javed’s impressive 4-wicket haul and Babar Azam’s gritty half-century in the final ODI, there was little to find solace in as they faced a 43-run defeat.

After the heartbreaking exit from the Champions Trophy, another series ended in disappointment. But Captain Mohammad Rizwan is still looking at the positive takeaways from the series. Despite the defeat, he praised the standout performances from his squad, finding hope in the setbacks.

“Obviously, a disappointing series for us. If you look at the positive things for us, Babar Azam scored two fifties, and Naseem Shah's batting was good as well, we enjoyed it. Sufiyan bowling as well.” Rizwan said.

Shifting Focus To The Upcoming PSL

With disappointment, the Men in Green wrapped up the series and are now set to shift their focus. From April 11, the Pakistan Super League is coming up with yet another exciting season. Acknowledging the setbacks, Rizwan is eager to shift focus to the PSL, hoping to bring fans something to celebrate.

“After CT and this series, we'll leave the past. We are going to enjoy PSL. PSL is a big tournament for us, hopefully we'll give the people something to cheer.” Rizwan said.

With PSL 2025 around the corner, Mohammad Rizwan is ready to lead the charge for Multan Sultans once again. Retained by the franchise, he’s set to don the Sultans’ colors as they kick off their campaign on April 12 against Karachi Kings.
