'ICC, When'll Bumrah's Suspicious Action Reported..' - Sri Lankan Journo Hits India Hard

Infamous for his anti-India rants on Twitter, Sri Lankan journalist Daniel Alexander is once again in the news after calling on the International Cricket Council (ICC) to report ace Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah for a suspect action.

In a woeful claim, Alexander accused Bumrah of carrying a suspicious bowling action after Indian seamers butchered the Lankan Lions for an embarrassing '55 all out' at the Wankhede Stadium in the two teams' ICC World Cup 2023 league stage encounter in Mumbai on Thursday (November 2).

Bumrah, who has an unorthodox mode of operation but never fallen under umpires' scrutiny for an illegal approach at the delivery stride in his rich playing career, started the horrendous Sri Lankan collapse with an unplayable outswinger that got solid opener Pathum Nissanka out for a duck.

Inarguably the finest all-format seamer in the world, Bumrah is currently the numero uno bowler in India's wickets chart for the home World Cup with 15 scalps over seven innings at an average short of 15 while conceding only 3.72 runs an over in a high-scoring tournament.

Sri Lankan Journalist Accuses Bumrah Of Suspect Action

Alexander's controversial post then came across as another clear case of sour grapes and jealousy with Team India's success after he shockingly asked the ICC to reconsider Bumrah's action and urged the authorities to report it.

The Sri Lankan journalist, who has over time turned into a laughing stock amongst fans on social media with his perennial anti-India tweets and references, once again showcased his worst side in needlessly going after Bumrah, amongst the world's most renowned and revered cricketers with a great body of work behind them.

Previously also Alexander has called for the ICC to investigate Indian bowlers' actions even as Indian cricket boasts of a thorough system in place to cast aside suspect actions at the domestic level without requiring changes at the international stage.

Bumrah would be the last man to be reported for a suspect action, especially with his unique clock-like operation at the bowling crease where his right elbow simply doesn't bend anywhere near the 15-degree mark.
