Popular film star Vicky Kushal was reintroduced as Team India's special fan as he joined the Men In Blue's support brigade ahead of their next ICC World Cup 2023 league stage clash against South Africa in Kolkata. 

Before Rohit Sharma & company face-off versus the Proteas on Sunday (November 5), Star Sports revealed an exciting promo featuring the famous Indian actor. 

In the promo, Kaushal is seen adding to the weight of the occasion for the much-anticipated battle at the iconic Eden Gardens by urging fans to join him in support of the tournament hosts. 


The actor, promoting his upcoming film 'Sam Bahadur' at the sidelines of the World Cup frenzy, has joined the bandwagon of Indian cricket lovers standing firmly behind Rohit's men as they watch in hope and aspirations for the nation to reclaim the ultimate glory.

Vicky Kaushal Joins Team India's Fan Army 

In the promo clip unveiled by host broadcaster Star Sports on Friday (November 3), Kaushal is seen announcing his entry into India's fan brigade and stating that he will be cheering just as loudly in support of Rohit's much-vaunted troops when they take on the in-form Proteas at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. 

Wearing his Team India shirt with 'Sam' written on the back as a reference to his forthcoming film 'Sam Bahadur', Kaushal tells the fans: "You must be wondering as to why I am dressed like this (wearing the India jersey) and where am I headed?"

"So, the India vs South Africa match is coming up and the Indian team needs our loudest cheers possible to beat an in-form team like South Africa." 



"So I am coming to support Team India on Star Sports. Watch this epic encounter with me on Cricket Live (Star's pre-match show)."

Bollywood and Cricket have always been a match made for blockbuster with Indian masses and Kaushal wants the fame and the excitement of the World Cup season to rub on to his fortunes with the promising 'Sam Bahadur' movie.
