Ahead of the much anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season Qualifier 2 clash between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Heinrich Klaasen shared thoughts on his player battle with RR off-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, stating that he has always loved to face Chahal.

IPL 2024 season will get its two finalists today as Rajasthan Royals (RR) battles it out with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Chennai in the high-stake Qualifier 2 contest.

The winner will book a seat into the finals of the tournament and meet KKR at the same venue on Sunday.

That being said, ahead of the game, a player battle between SRH hard hitter Heinrich Klaasen and RR quality spinner Yuzvendra Chahal garnered much attention, and the batter shared his thoughts on the same prior to the game.

Klaasen said that he has always loved his battle with Chahal and rated the Indian spinner very highly. The South African batter added that the battle has always been neutral, especially this season, as Chahal has got him out multiple times and on the flip side, he also took him to cleaners.

Heinrich Klaasen further referred to Yuzvendra Chahal as his close friend and expressed his readiness for the big awaiting challenge.

"I like facing [Yuzvendra] Chahal. It's always been a good battle. He's got me out a couple of times and I've been scoring off him, so that ratio is nice, I feel. I know he's an excellent bowler, he's one of my good friends as well so that will always be a nice challenge. He's one of the bowlers that is always sticking to his gameplan. Even if you hit him for a couple of good shots, he still follows his process. Obviously he's one of my mates so you want to take him down. He's been good.” Klaasen said.

Klaasen also shared an impressive quality of Chahal saying how the off-spinner always sticks to his process even after getting hammered. In that regard, he is dangerous to face on most days.

Lastly, Klaasen said that while Chahal is one of his best mates, he would surely look to take him down in the Qualifier 2 contest.
