England cricket team's head coach Brendon McCullum has shared his opinion on the brief fight that took place between the England team's security guards and a cameraman from the media partners.
Incidentally, as the England team was preparing to fly to Adelaide for the third Ashes Test, one staff member of the England cricket team's security guard pushed a Channel 7 cameraman to clear the way for the team.
The media house network implied that they would investigate the incident, as the situation also didn't sit well with the reputation of the England cricket team in Australia.
McCullum stresses scrutiny and pressure after cameraman incident
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Brendon McCullum opined on the incident, though he didn't see the cameraman flash at them. However, he also emphasized that it wasn't ideal and is not good luck for the team ahead of the third Test.
There are a lot of eyeballs on the team as they visited Down Under with their long history of rivalry. However, McCullum was positive that the matter was dealt with.
"I didn't see it (the cameraman clash), but obviously it wasn't ideal. Hopefully it's been dealt with, and everyone's able to move on. We know that coming to Australia, there's a lot of eyeballs and a lot of intense scrutiny on everything you do, and I feel like we've managed ourselves pretty well," McCullum said.
McCullum was also positive that they have carried themselves pretty well despite the ferocious Australian media welcome that outrightly criticized Ben Stokes and Co.
De-load week went well for England
Nevertheless, the England team relaxed in Noosa after the second Test, enjoying golf sessions and mixing with the locals in good spirit. McCullum lauded the experience of the boys with the locals, acknowledging the positivity ahead of the third Test.
"The boys were outstanding last week, they were engaging with a lot of the locals and everyone was in good spirits, there was some good banter," McCullum said.
Nevertheless, the England team will be ready with their preparation ahead of the third Test on December 17 in Adelaide after their two straight defeats. This will be a do-or-die clash since Australia is 2-0 up, and England's 2025–26 Ashes dream might end with an Adelaide loss. The third Test will be live for fans from 5 AM IST.
