Ahead of the big-ticket World Cup final against Australia, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma shared insights into his batting approach and adaptability during the tournament.

Rohit underlined his pre-tournament plans and the need for flexibility, highlighting the essence of experience in adjusting one's game.

"Before the start of the World Cup, I had plans to play in a certain way. I didn't know it'll come off. As I start the innings, there's a bit of freedom to express myself. Against England, I had to change my game. That's what an experienced player does. I am prepared to do whatever I feel is right for the team in that team,"  Rohit Sharma stated on the eve of the final.

The seasoned batter emphasized the clarity in his batting approach, asserting that he is well-aware of his role within the team. Rohit also acknowledged the importance of adapting to varying pitch conditions, indicating a readiness to adjust his strategy based on the nature of the playing surface.

"I am pretty clear in what I want to do as a batter. If the pitch is good, you can take on the bowlers. If it's nipping around, then it's important to take your time," added Rohit.

In this World Cup, Rohit has been instrumental in providing India with explosive starts, amassing 550 runs as an opener at an impressive strike rate of 124, maintaining an average of 55.5.

His aggressive batting approach seized control in the initial ten overs, setting a dominant tone for India. Rohit's selfless strategy to give the team attacking starts, allowing players like Kohli and the middle-order to consolidate, has earned him accolades in India's nearly flawless campaign.

Despite narrowly missing a half-century on three occasions, Rohit has managed to lay a strong foundation for India, propelling them to 50 within six overs. He will be aiming to carry his exceptional form into the big final, as the team endeavors to break a ten-year ICC trophy drought on November 19 at Ahmedabad's iconic Narendra Modi Stadium.

Rohit's wicket will be a key target for Australia on Sunday, considering his remarkable record against them – eight ODI hundreds and nine fifties. He understands the significance of the India-Australia rivalry. After being dismissed for a duck in the first game against Australia, Rohit hasn't looked back and dominated since then, living upto the tag of the "Hitman" in the World Cup.
