Pakistan Cricket is undergoing major reforms after their disappointing campaign at the T20 World Cup 2024, where they crashed out in the group stage round.

In the first step towards the reform, the Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB sacked Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq as the selectors for the Pakistan Cricket Team.

The PCB selectors were under heavy criticism as they were accused of favouritism and not selecting players based on merit.

In a statement on Wednesday, the PCB confirmed that they have removed Riaz and Razzaq.

"Their services will no longer be required in the national selection committee setup".

In the latest events, Wahab Riaz has hit back at the PCB and issued his justification.

"I don’t agree with the statements being discussed about adding pressure to the members of the selection committee, how can 1 vote dominate 6? Everything is documented on record in the meeting minutes. I will be issuing my statement today evening."

Notably, Riaz was earlier the chief selector and was removed from the post and served as one of the seven selectors for PCB who were without a chief. Meanwhile, PCB signed Abdul Razzaq as Men's and Women's selector just a few weeks ago, but he is yet to issue a statement on his sacking.
