‘He Likes Smoking' - Former Teammate Makes a Big Revelation About MS Dhoni

The unexpected footage of the former Indian captain, MS Dhoni enjoying a hookah has raised eyebrows and triggered controversy among his fan base. 

Even with his celebrated fitness and disciplined routine, the revelation of MS Dhoni using a hookah in public has caught some of his fans off guard.

In the midst of this, an old statement by former Australia T20I captain George Bailey is circulating on social media. In it, he unveils MS Dhoni's fondness for smoking hookah and his efforts to foster camaraderie between senior and junior players through organised hookah sessions. 

Bailey made this statement back in 2018 as he reminisced about his experiences playing under Dhoni's leadership in IPL, spanning his time with Chennai Super Kings (2009-2012) and Rising Pune Supergiant (2016).

Here’s what George Bailey had said: 

"He likes smoking a bit of the sheesha or the hookah. So, he quite often would set that up in his room, and it was very much open door policy. You would go in and quite often find a lot of younger players there. For India or lot of other cricket teams, it can be hierarchical, but he certainly broke that down.”


“You just find yourself in his room late at night chatting inevitably about the game or about different facets of the game or about different people and with different people it’s a great way to break down barriers.” 

MS Dhoni, the legendary captain, led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to a historic five IPL titles in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023. The esteemed wicket-keeper batter is slated to resume captaincy duties for CSK in the upcoming 2024 IPL season as well.
