The IPL 2026 is still months away, but the preparation has already begun. As the mini auction is coming up, the trade talks between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals heat up the contest.

Raina strikes back at CSK over Jadeja's trade talks

As the mini auction for the IPL 2026 is coming within a few days, franchises are busy making some last-minute deals. Amidst all trade talks, Ravindra Jadeja’s trading news to the Rajasthan Royals is turning heads. A key figure in CSK’s lineup for years, Jadeja has been a fan favorite and a game-changer on the field. The news of his possible trade didn’t sit well with the fans.

However, it's not just the fans, as even experts are opposing the move of the CSK management. Speaking about this on Star Sports, former CSK player Suresh said that the team must retain Jadeja. He made it clear that trading such a pivotal player would be a huge mistake for the franchise.

“Ravindra Jadeja should be retained again. He is a gun player for CSK. He has done really, really well for the team over the years, so 'Sir Ravindra Jadeja has to be there,” Raina said.

Raina shares thoughts on CSK’s potential releases

As the auction is coming, CSK must release some of the players, and Suresh Raina shared his opinion. He recommends letting go of Devon Conway, suggesting the team hunt for a local opener instead. Raina also advised releasing Deepak Hooda and Vijay Shankar to make room for the fresh talents.

“Devon Conway should be released. CSK need a local opener, which they will look for in the mini-auction. Vijay Shankar has already received plenty of chances. So I think CSK should release him as well. Deepak Hooda should be released, too. There are a lot of players available in the mini-auction who can provide the same combination for the team. These players got their chances last year, and we saw how they played. So, probably CSK will have to look for someone new,” he added.

The buzz around Jadeja’s potential move to RR and Sanju Samson joining CSK has divided the cricket world. As the official news confirmation is yet to come, fans don’t want to see Sir Jadeja playing for any other franchise.
