Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 7 wickets and 27 balls left at home. One of the catalysts of the super-fast run-chase was Suryakumar Yadav, who scored a quick-fire 52 (19).

After getting a good start, Surya joined Rohit Sharma in the middle at 101/1. He made sure that they built on the start that they had got and increased their net run rate.

In the post-match interview, he shed light on how it felt to be back and chase 200 run total at that pace, saying he was always with the team, mentally and how important it was to finish off quickly after a good start.

"When you are chasing 200, it is important to know the dew factor and take your chances, both Rohit and Ishan did the job for us at the 10th over mark and we only knew that we had to finish early for that net run rate thing," Suryakumar said.

Talking about his range of shots, SKY stressed the importance of playing to the field and practising. He also made sure to mention about Ishan Kishan's hard work and management's backing.

"I just try to play to the field and practice these shots and it is just muscle memory (talking about his freak shots). I go out there and enjoy myself. The slice over point is the one that I enjoyed the most. He management told him [Ishan Kishan] to go out and enjoy, he has worked really hard on his batting and is just enjoying the fruits now," he added.

On the brilliance of Jasprit Bumrah, who took 5/21 - he revealed that he hasn't played the speedster in the nets for a very long time as he ends up losing a toe or bat.

"It's been almost 2-3 years since I batted against him (Bumrah) in the nets, because he either breaks my bat or breaks my foot."
