Australia legend and former right-arm seamer Jason Gillespie has opened up on his bizarre coaching experience with Pakistan. Notably, the PCB had appointed Gillespie as their red-ball coach to improve things for the Shan Masood-led side, but he resigned abruptly, which sent the cricketing world into shock.

Notably, Gillespie was signed till 2026, but he put in his papers before the South Africa series because the PCB had sacked his assistant coach before that tour without any prior notice, and it didn't go well with Gillespie.

In the latest events, Gillespie opened up on his coaching experience and remarked that the PCB experience has left it sour and he is not interested in coaching any more team.

"My experience in Pakistan has dampened my love for coaching. It was a huge blow. I was deeply disappointed by how things ended. It made me question whether I even wanted to return to full-time coaching,” Gillespie said.

“To be honest, the experience left me drained. I currently have no interest in coaching at all. Even if Australia were to offer me a coaching role today, I’d politely decline—I’m simply not interested right now,” he added.

Following Gillespie's sacking, PCB roped in Aaqib Javed as the interim head coach. In present times, the Pakistan cricket team are struggling as they recently suffered a whitewash against second-string New Zealand team.
