Brett Lee, renowned for his blistering pace and fiery aggression, has always showcased his versatile personality beyond the cricket field. Apparently, the former Australian cricketer also possesses a sharp sense of humor, which he recently displayed during a lighthearted moment at an India vs Australia commentary panel at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
Commentating alongside yesteryears Ashes rival Michael Vaughan, Brett Lee made a hilarious joke on ‘triplets’ while praising another fast bowler.
Michael Vaughan In Splits Over Brett Lee’s Joke
On Day 1 of the fifth Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 Test between India and hosts Australia at the SCG, former Australian speedster Brett Lee talked about a certain fast bowler who has triplets for kids. Signifying the achievement, Lee jokingly remarked:
“He is the only fast bowler to get a hat-trick off two balls.”
Responding to Brett Lee’s dirty joke, even fellow commentator and former England captain Michael Vaughan burst out in laughter.
Nonetheless, on the cricketing front, Team India enveloped for just 185 after interim skipper Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and opted to bat first on Day 1. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja all squandered away their hard-earned starts against the likes of Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland.
India’s attacking wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant top-scored for the visitors with a 40-run knock from 98 balls before he miscued one towards Pat Cummins. For Australia, Boland picked up four Indian wickets for just 31 runs from 20 overs while Starc snared three victims, including the prized scalps of Rahul and Jadeja.
Left to survive three overs before stumps, Australia also lost opening batter Usman Khawaja to visiting skipper Jasprit Bumrah to reach 9-1.
