Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh took a brutal jibe at the Pakistan cricket team after the ‘Men in Blue’ romped to a clinical semifinal win over Australia. Taking to X, Harbhajan trolled Pakistan’s winless campaign at the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, and also addressed the fact that the designated hosts of the tournament will not be staging the final.

As per the Champions Trophy scheduling, the Dubai International Stadium was allotted the entire share of Team India’s matches owing to the prevailing geo-political tensions shared between India and Pakistan.

In a bid to host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, the PCB spent nearly a fortune to upgrade the venues for the tournament. Moreover, the PCB also fought tooth-and-nail to reserve the entire hosting rights of the competition, before bowing down to BCCI’s demands and sharing the eight-team event with Dubai, UAE.

As it turned out, the Pakistan cricket team ended up playing just one match of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy at home, considering their match against India was hosted by Dubai and their planned fixture against Bangladesh was washed out due to rains.

While the final was slated to be hosted by Pakistan, India’s semifinal win over Australia has now ensured that the title clash will be played at the Dubai International Stadium. Amidst Pakistan’s rising misery surrounding the tournament, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh took a brutal jibe at the ‘Men in Green’ over the same. Taking to X, he wrote:

“First, Pakistan was out of the tournament. And now, the final is out of Pakistan.”

Team India chased down Australia’s 264 with four wickets and nearly two overs to spare in Dubai in the first semifinal. The ‘Men in Blue’ also topped the Group A points table by securing huge wins over Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand.

The Pakistan team, on the other hand, failed to win a single game by falling to humiliating defeats against New Zealand and India before their Bangladesh match was washed out due to rains.
